Who is Yusra? 

Yusra is an Architect and designer, with 7 years of experience in the field, but it was only when she had her first child that she became aware of the unique perspective that children have of space, and how we may be falling short in ensuring we curate accordingly.  She has made it her primary focus to aid parents in creating spaces for their children that are well designed, allow for growth and personal expression, are practical and user friendly, comprise of elements that are essential, and that add value to the lives of its users.  

About the Workshop The design of kids' areas may often be overlooked as parents feel children will 'outgrow' it too quickly. On the contrary, when a space is well designed, it offers a solid base on which change and growth can smoothly materialize.  In this workshop, we will explore the basic guidelines for infant, toddler, and tween spaces. We will discuss color palettes, zoning, balance, furniture, accessorizing, and strategies we can implement within a space to promote self-expression and growth.  we will end our session with an interactive exercise where participants rethink a space in their own home and using the tools acquired in the workshop - create improvement. (We suggest bringing in some images of your child's space for this exercise).  Open for everyone!
